This series of pieces was created for an assignment utilizing various textures and frottage. I chose to create my pieces in an "automatic" manner, choosing to simply let my hands create the pieces rather than attempt to create a recognizable form.

Two pieces created with coloured pencil on watercolour paper. They both use textures rubbed onto the paper to create form. In both pieces, a grate-like texture is used for the background. The first piece primarily uses rubbings of scissors to create a line, and the second piece uses rubbings of a roll of tape and rubbings of Toonies to create circles that cover the page.
